Bio:
April gave her first performance when she was thirteen years old appearing in a pantomime, after becoming involved in local amateur dramatics group "Brighouse Light Opera Society Juniors". She took the 'small' part of the titular Wizard (of Oz). Since then she has never lost the desire to perform, giving her first solo performance as Prince Charming, again in local panto. This required her not only to utilize her skills as an actor but also to unleash a voice that is both pure and full of character making it a joy to behold.

April studied performing arts at both GSCE and A-Level standard before achieving her Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Studies at
HuddersfieldUniversity
, graduating in 2003.

April gained experience of writing, directing and performing whilst studying at
Huddersfield. In particular she co-directed and co-composed the music for a production entitled "Baccae Dance" which was a musical adaptation of "The Bacchae", as well as taking the role of Dionysis in the production. It is no surprise that April's preferred acting style revolves around her voice and in particular she has an uncanny knack of nailing several dialects both provincial and international. This ability enabled her to adopt the persona of the marvelously monikered 'Goldie King' whilst guest dj-ing on student radio, bringing transatlantic airwaves to murky Huddersfield
.

April has performed voice-over work for a selection of corporate videos but feels most at home performing live for a crowd. She won a place in Sing Live's production of "Evita" through the 2001 BBC Radio Leeds 'Star Maker' competition. She recorded a CD of cover songs at
Beaumont Street studios in Huddersfield
last year and is currently working on her own new material.

April's other work includes directing a performance of "The Importance of Being Earnest", playing Blanche in "A Streetcar Named Desire", starring in "Blue Remembered Hills", "Mother Said I Never Should" and playing Carrie Pipperedge in a production of "Carousel". She has also starred as Millie Pontipee in "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", Maltravers in "Edward II" and played the title role in "Doctor Faustus".
