Bio: Ashley started singing country music when she was seven years and released her first CD by the time she was 14 and her second CD at 18!
In 1999, at the North American Country Music Association held in Gatlinburg, TN Ashley won the awards for 'Most Promising Entertainer of the Year' and 'Most Promising Vocalist of the Year'. Her debut album, 'Introducing Ashley Wentworth,' received the award 'Album of the Year.
Today, Ashley is hard at work on new material with a country/pop/rock feel with long-time producer Larry Brockway, from Hall of Fame Studios in Neodesha, KS, and manager, Gerd Muller.
While singing is her true love, Ashley also is majoring in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK, where she shares an apartment with her sister. Ashley sings at her church and local events as much as possible – although her singing career puts increasing demands on her time.
Last summer alone, Ashley performed for DFEST 2005 in downtown Tulsa at Dalesandro’s Patio at 10:15 pm on July 9th. As part of DFEST 2005, Ashley performed on Channel 8’s Morning Show at the KTUL studios in Tulsa on July 1st between 9:00 and 10:00 am. Ashley also competed in the 2005 Colgate Country Showdown at the Shawnee Mall on July 29th.
No stranger to the stage, Ashley has opened for the Bellamy Brothers in Parsons, KS; Roy Clark at the GPA Convention in Dallas, TX; Hank Thompson at the Oklahoma Jubilee in Shidler, OK; and Kitty Wells at the Oklahoma Jubilee in Shidler, OK. She has also performed for Kirby Kasting and Grace Ann Productions at Mayfest 2005 in Downtown Tulsa.
Ashley is also a strong contender in competitions:
- Finishing among the top 10 (out of over 500 auditions!) in the Chevrolet Search for a Star Competition at the Texas State Fair in Dallas, TX
- Going to the national level as a result of her performance in a local Radio Star Competition in Tyler, TX in 2004, which advanced her to the National level and gave her and her version of “Drive My Car” national exposure
- Reaching the final 25 in the Dallas auditions for MTV’s Making the Band 3
