Bio:

On a personal level, Dave is 6’ 6” tall and was born on Columbus Day in Chicago, Illinois, and has natural curly blond hair, hazel eyes and an affable character.

Country Dave's laid-back nature and personality is the reason people gravitate to him. His many imitations of all the country "star" voices is amazing and nothing short of incredible.
He also imitates people's speaking voices and was even expelled one week for imitating his high school principal, by telling the students over the loudspeaker to come to the office.

At age 11, Dave performed for "Choral Dynamics" a group that his mother belonged to. At 13 he started playing his uncle's and cousin's guitars and seemed to have a natural penchant or affinity for it and at age 14 he got his own guitar. About age 15 he was imitating all of the "Country Stars" voices exactly and people called him uncanny. Everybody thinks he is faking it, but he isn't. He was 18 when he sang at the

When he was in his 20's and before he shipped out for the Persian Gulf he sang and played before a large audience in Virginia Beach, Virginia and when he was actually at the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Sea, he sang and played for his shipmates, numbering about 7,000.

In 1993 he took a trip down to Nashville, where he sang in the `Don Reed' production of "Starborn Records" and he said he would promote him, but the cost was prohibitive. He met Jack Patton who was interested in him after he sang at Mickey Gilley's place right in Nashville. He met Chuck Seals who wrote, "Crazy Arms" and Johnny Rivers, Mel Fender, (Freddie's brother), Jack Greene and Jim Ed Brown.

In 1997 there was a "Star Search" in Mundelein that he won, by singing his original song he had written, "Childhood Days." He received a 00.00 dollar prize which consisted of recording his songs at "Big Mama's" in Jackson, Tennessee, and that was his reason for leaving Illinois, but when he actually went there to have them honor his prize, they told him he needed to use their musicians and band, so needless to say, he didn't have the money and is still working hard to reach his dreams as a truck driver/singer/songwriter.

In November of 1998, Dave moved to Tennessee as he wanted to be closer to the country music industry in Nashville. Country Dave is following his Dream and hopes to continue to find great opportunities in the Music Business.

When Country Dave moved to Tennessee he took a job at a moving company. While on a job a customer had a guitar and Dave mentioned to his partner James, that he played the guitar, so he asked Dave to play a song. When James heard Dave play one of his original songs he told Dave to get Doug Smith to help him out in getting music connections. Doug invited Country Dave to his Christmas party and told him to bring over his guitar as he wanted to hear what Dave sounded like. They ended up jamming all night long. At that same time, Neil Beasley told Doug that he needed to get Country Dave’s music into Nathan Smiths, Main Frame Recording Studio, so Doug made a phone call that night and set it up. After that Dave went in to the studio and recorded the first two songs acoustically, “Ya Gotta Have a Dream”, and Daddy Always Told Me. This will be included on the end of the, “Ya Gotta Have a Dream” album. Country Dave is very instrumental in writing his own songs and has written the lyrics and music to over 100 of them. He also accompanies himself on the guitar.

Doug Smith took those two cuts to the radio station in Celina TN and they liked, “Ya Gotta Have a Dream” so well they played the raw cut on the radio. After the feedback came in, Doug & Nathan suggested taking those cuts back to the studio and making a full instrumental studio version. A short time later they met with Tim Thompson, one of the greatest jazz musicians around. They went over to Tim’s house and laid down the guitar tracks for, “Ya Gotta Have a Dream” and “Daddy Always Told Me”. They took it back to the studio where Nathan added drums to the tracks. Then back to Tim’s where they laid down the lead guitar and the piano. Finally it was back to Nathan’s studio to make the final cut. At that point, “Ya Gotta Have a Dream”, CD demo was born.

Doug Smith ended up taking the demo CD back to the radio station in Celina TN and also to WLIV in Livingston TN. They like it so much they played it on the air. Doug who also owns and operates, Fox Disc Jockey Service, played the song around town at parties and got a tremendous response! Then Doug decided to play it for his cousin, David Beasley, who became an avid fan. Another session was set up over at Doug’s house, so David Beasley could hear, Country Dave live. Then Country Dave, played some of his other original songs and everyone decided that he needed to lay down the other songs in the studio. He went back to Main Frame Recording Studio and recorded, My Childhood Days and Jealousy. Presently he has a four song demo and passing it out to family and friends. Copies are going quickly as everyone loves the sound.

Country Dave’s Mother, who is his biggest fan, put up the money for the next four songs. Then he went back to the studio and recorded, “That Old Buckeye”, “A Heart That Gives”, “Why’d Ya Have Ta Waste My Time”, and “Family Tree”.

Country Dave performed, “A Heart That Gives Benefit” Concert for Support the Troops. After that he went home to Illinois for about three months. He ended up going back to Tennessee to follow his dream. He got a job in the trucking industry to earn enough money to finish off the album.
