Cheree Silcox is talented and a true professional. It's evident as one watches her break out into one of her dynamic, knockout solo performances. Whether it's singing a solo number or accompanying choirs or duets, Cheree is a star.
Cheree Silcox was born in Pensacola, Florida on September 17. She began singing at an early age in church and continued performing either as a soloist or in choral parts, in musicals and groups, through elementary and middle school. She continued on her singing path as a Freshman in high school, but this path soon took a back seat to another passion of hers, cheerleading. Even though she was no longer in chorus, Cheree continued to practice her singing through these years.
Earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Cheree renewed her passion for music, Theatre and performance. The sweet quality of her voice and the pure bell tones are magical to all ages. Singing over 4 octaves and growing, she has clearly developed her voice. She is a promising artist.
Early on, it was evident that Cheree would someday be a musical success. She has always had a flair for adapting all types of songs and music to her own unique style. Cheree has worked in top Nashville recording studios with world class musicians and engineers, who worked with GarthBrooks, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and one currently on the road with Alan Jackson.
In addition to singing solo and in groups, Cheree has performed in numerous plays and musicals. Wherever Cheree sings or performs, she develops a love affair with her audience. Through her music, she pours out her heart and her audience loves her as much as she loves them. She exudes spiritual warmth with her voice and a dynamic persona which is comforting and inspiring to people who hear her sing.
Her performance experience includes singing around Nashville, TN at the NashvillePalace and several spots in Printers Alley. She has also performed at the Pensacola Interstate fair three years in a row and The University of Alabama. St. Anne's Round Up filled her calendar in the early fall and winter for several years.
She has performed for the Bow Hunters Club in Northwest Florida. Cheree was the star of the New Artist Showcase 2001 in Pensacola, Florida, which was a fund raiser for St. Jude Children's ResearchHospital. Opening for Doug Stone at the Carousel Club in 2001 in Pensacola, Florida was another highlight of Cheree's long career as an artist. Cheree also traveled around southern Alabama performing at various concerts and festivals. The Pensacola Barracuda Arena Football team's National Anthem was once sung by Cheree Silcox. She also sang the National Anthem for her Alma Matter, PineForestHigh School's Homecoming Football game. In 2002 Cheree performed an opening number for Clinton Gregory's Showcase at the Marriott in Cool Springs (Franklin, Tennessee). After her performance she was given excellent reviews by the famous Jeannie C. Riley. One of the most important events to date for Cheree was singing on stage with her absolute favorite country artist, Shania Twain, in the PensacolaCivicCenter.
You might have heard Cheree on the radio as well. Her music has been played by WPAP in Panama City, Florida where she was also brought in to do a radio interview on the morning show. Her voice has also been heard on WYZB in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Cheree is still being played on the radio in Atmore, Alabama, where she also did a radio interview on the morning show. The Brewton, Alabama radio station WKNU also plays Cheree and they too did a radio interview with her on their morning show. WXBM in Pensacola, Florida played Cheree's music during the 2001 promo for the Doug Stone Concert.
Cheree has made a name for herself in the Southeastern region. The On Cue record store in Brewton, Alabama thought so much of Cheree they brought her in to do a live remote with the local radio station (WKNU). During the remote, Cheree sang her music, signed autographs and greeted fans. WKNU did several interviews with Cheree during the remote and played her music on their station. On Cue even named Cheree "The On Cue Female Vocalist of the Year" for 2000.
In addition to live performances and radio airplay, Cheree has been featured on Television. Cheree sang In His Dreams live and was interviewed on WEAR channell 3 on the 3 in the morning show. As well, Cheree had a spot on The University of Alabama's TV station, where she sang one of her songs live and had an on camera interview.
Since Cheree has gotten all of this experience under her belt, she finally made a decision and packed up her family to move to Nashville, Tennessee. She wants to go for it all and will not stop until she has achieved her ultimate goal.
I can't say enough about the talent of this young woman. Cheree is a sure thing and is already a star. Her background and experience has prepared her for the journey ahead. She is not just a singer she is a composer, a true artist, writing her own songs with her very own unique and unparalleled style.
Beautiful, photogenic, graceful and poised... Cheree has many gifts to offer. She is dedicated to pursuing music and to uplifting humanity with her singing. She thoroughly loves composing, singing, dancing, and acting. Her goal is to be a top Artist, go on tour, and sell tons of albums with songs that make a difference in people's lives.
Versatile, adaptable and creative in her style and technique, this is only the beginning for Cheree.
