Like a lot of female singers, Dawn was uniquely drawn to music at an early age. Introduced to country music by her grandfather, Dawn could often be heard singing to the legendary sounds of Patsy Cline or Loretta Lynn long before she could utter complete sentences. Unlike other singers, however, Dawn was born and raised in Seattle, Washington where country music was anything but the mainstream sound. Despite the fact, this would prove to be an inspiration for Dawn to begin creating her own songs, perform in the school choir, talent shows, local beauty pageants winning in best talent, and school road shows. It was at this point that her parents realized their daughter had more than just a fascination with music, she indeed had a gift.
While very proud of her Seattle upbringing, the lack of country music was quite a challenge that Dawn was not only determined to overcome but to inspire others, as well. She embarked on a journey to make a point and do it all on her own. In 2001, Dawn produced her first solo album "Wildest Dreams", 3 of the songs were co-writing with Dawn and the rest were songs written for her. This production clearly showcases her voice as it feels, breathes, creates and inspires new vision. Wildest Dreams and Big Sky both made it to number 65 on "The New Music Weekly". With these two great songs under her belt she wrote and produced "In the Moment" with the help of Michael Cavell and Larry White's musical arrangement, the song also went to "New Music Weekly" and had great success ending at #35; However, Dawn quickly realized that in order for further growth to be achieved she needed to get in the thick of it.
In 2004, believing that anything was possible, Dawn packed up her life and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Through her powerful voice, Dawn began to share her vision and quickly made an indelible mark on a town full of dreamers. It did not take long for her strong ambition and charisma to start opening doors with some of MusicCity's elite songwriters, musicians and artists. It was highly important to Dawn to learn all that she could about the industry from every aspect of the business, so she became a working artist and drew from the expertise of those who had come before her. Every tool she learned and continues to develop can be heard in every note of her music.
