Bio:
I was born in Santa Rosa California on October 16,1983. I started singing at the age of two, although I never knew that until I was older and actually watched a video of it. Who ever heard of a two year old who could barley talk singing "Jingle Bells" word for word and in tune? At the age of five I had my first solo. Sitting on top of the piano singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", I was on top of the world. The auditorium filled with seven hundred people was amazing to me. As the years went on, all the way through elementary school I had at least one solo a year. At that time they were just handed to me and I did them because I enjoyed singing. It wasn’t until Jr. High that I actually realized I just might have something here. When I had to audition for solos and still got them, I knew what it was I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
In the 7th grade I was fortunate to be involved in a National Jr. High Honors Choir. Seven hundred people from all over the place auditioned and only 250 made it in. My mom and I drove 12 hours to San Diego California. It was amazing singing in a choir with 250 people. Although I was born and raised a California girl, I grew up on a ranch with every kind of animal imaginable. My parents were both born and raised in North Carolina, where my music roots were born. My grandpa, a well known mandolin player still plays in a blue grass band today. Although I will sing any kind of music I have to say bluegrass is the most fun. Living 3000 miles away from my grandparents didn’t give me much of an opportunity to sing with my grandpa, but every time I visited he always made sure he was playing somewhere so I could sing. The more people the better!
Throughout Jr. High and High School I continued to sing in the choir and in small places around town. I knew there was only one place for me to be and that was Nashville Tennessee. The summer before my senior year of high school I went on vacation to see my grandparents. Since Ashville was only 4 hours from Nashville I insisted that we go. We hit all the major tourist spots, the hall of fame, and grand old opry. I recorded my own CD singing cover songs to karaoke tracks. Since I had never been recorded before, I was so excited. I had always said when I graduated high school I was going to move to Nashville. I graduated from Santa Rosa High School in June of 2001. I started saving my money, turned 18 in October and 9 months later I moved to Nashville Tennessee. Two of my best friends and I got in my truck and drove the 2600 miles across country. Although that was an amazing experience I would never forget, the best was still to come. I’m going on my fourth year here in Nashville. I’ve met a lot of good people here and my journey has just begun. I am now working on my very first professional demo. I’ve got my own songs and a really good group of people to work with. This has been a long time coming and I am so excited. Through out the years I have been so fortunate to have friends and family who support me and believe in me. All of my music teachers have been an inspiration to me and I thank them so much for all I’ve learned. And my parents especially, they have always been behind me from the time I could talk to when I moved to Nashville, they have always supported my dream and I am very fortunate for that. At 22 years old I am just starting the next chapter in my music career and I can’t wait!
