Susan Hickman, is a gifted singer songwriter with a young fresh exuberance toward performing her music. She is a smart, dedicated, hard working artist who believes with enough perseverance she will attain her goal of doing what she loves best, and that makes her truly happy. Susan was born in Clear Lake, Texas , July 1st 1985, She has been involved in music most of her 22 years she started taking piano lessons at age 5. Susan grew up singing in her church choir, learned to play violin and played in the church orchestra and is currently learning to play guitar. Her voice however, has always been there true and strong. At age 15, 2001 Susan recorded her 1st album "Its No Game" a fun, funky pop album. She choreographed dances for 6 dancers plus herself and took off promoting herself and her album in various venues including schools, dance studio recitals, clubs around Houston and Galveston area. She had a year-long engagement with McDonald’s providing the music entertainment for all the Grand opening and re images all across Texas. Her play list included her original music plus covered music from Gospel / Inspirational, Soul / R&B, Rock and Country. During that time she met fellow singer Brent Wilson and in November 2005 they worked together with a talented group of musicians to record a Christmas Album “A Picture Perfect Christmas”. In January of 2006 producer Doug Deforest who is working with artists such as Todd Fritch, invited Susan to come to Rainey Studio in Drasco, Arkansas to record a country single Listening For Angels, not only was she delighted with the experience and the outcome but came to the realization that being born in Texas, she really is a country girl with a dynamic country music feel. She says that all her previous music experience has led her to where she feels at home singing the kind of music she most likes to listen to, country. Susan’s latest release Listenin’ for Angels is currently on two music compilation CDs distributed overseas, one is Armadillo Records Texas Country Music Artist ..5 and the other is with Hot Disc. Both are being played on radio stations in countries such as The Netherlands, Great Brittan, France, Sweden, Holland and Australia. In March of 2007, Susan joined The Spiffingtons Band, a group if incredibly talented individuals. “It is a joy to work with such wonderful people week after week, the kind of people that have real morals and integrity, I am truly blessed”. The Spiffingtons are made up of five members. Danny Klotz – Lead Guitar and Vocals, Craig Gysler – Keyboards and Vocals, Darrell Green – Drums and Vocals, CJ Dipalma – Bass and Vocals, and Susan Hickman – Lead Vocals. This highly energetic band combines their outstanding musical abilities along with an explosive stage show that will get your guests on the dance floor and make your party come alive. The Spiffingtons perform a wide variety of music from modern Pop and Country hits, Motown, Funk, Rock, Disco, Jazz, Swing, Latin and Standards.
