Bio:
12 year old William Michael Morgan from Vicksburg, Mississippi is country music's next big superstar. Singing and performing since he was 5, Michael loves to sing and loves country music. He looks up to many who have achieved greatness such as George Jones, GeorgeStrait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, and Billy Dean. In January of 2005, He recorded 7 songs which could be heard on his website and he quickly gained a small fan base who knew they were hearing the next big thing because of that. Meanwhile around town, the Beechwood Restaurant and Lounge began playing a cd of those 7 songs.
By May of 2005, Michael had his own recording studio in his own home and every few weeks the fans were treated to new songs. Also in May, Michael was interviewed by the local country music radio station where he talked about an upcoming contest that was to be held in Las Vegas, NV. He was one out of 175 contestants, chosen out of 59,000 people. The contest was held on June 18th and he got first place for most-promising. After the show aired on PAX-TV (now know as "I"), fans voted Michael the TV Viewer Choice. He received a ground-breaking number of votes: almost 1.5 million. Also during the summer of '05, he went to a contest in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee at Loretta Lynn's ranch. He received 4th place in the youth division and then got the opportunity to return for the final round in September. He gained many fans from the experience.
He auditioned for Johnnie High's Country Music Review in Arlington, Texas in November of '05. He performed on January 27th of 2006, and received two standing ovations.
In February 2006, Michael became friends with Lee Bogan http://www.leebogan.com and was asked by him and Lanier Records http://www.lanierrecords.com/ to be a part of the Country from the Heart CD to Help Benefit Children in The Philippines. Featuring Lee Bogan, Chris McDaniel, Tre Twitty, Ronnie McDowell, Angel Nash, Shareen King ,Narvel Felts, Ray Griff. Mark Collier, Jeff Logan, and Tim Gillihan. Michael has many fans from all over the world from local Mississippi fans to fans from China and from England!! They have realized that Michael is the next big thing and they all are looking forward to seeing what happens in the future.
Michael's Debut CD "Always Country" was released in March of 2006.
