Bio:
This all-woman country group Cowboy Crush is one of those bands that came up the "you've just got to see them," word-of-mouth way. Sweet harmonies and talented musicianship helped too, but when your very first gig lands you 50 bookings, you've got to chalk it up to their firecracker performances. Trenna Barnes (lead vocals), Renae' Truex (fiddle, mandolin), and Debbie Johnson (vocals, bass) had all been knocking around Nashville in different bands before they came together in March of 2003. It was in October that year they decided to take their music public and accepted an offer to play the International Entertainment Buyers convention. The 50 bookings were a result of this, but it wasn't long before Cowboy Crush would leave behind the world of trade shows and take it to the big arenas. Opening for headliners like Travis Tritt, Lonestar, and Trace Adkins along with playing numerous festivals brought an amazing 1,700,000 visitors to their website. It didn't take long for the record companies to take notice, Asylum/Curb being the organization to get the girls to put pen to paper. In May of 2005 the label released the single "Nobody Ever Died of a Broken Heart" and soon it was climbing country radio play lists while the video was getting numerous airings on the CMT network.

Trenna Barnes: Lead Vocals
"It started out as a great way to aggravate my two older brothers, but I had no idea that singing at the top of my lungs at 4 years old would become my greatest ambition." Though Trenna's story begins with such childish motivations, the ending is far from written. As a professional demo singer and performer, Trenna has achieved enviable successes in the music business that others only dream about. Further, her rise up the music-business ladder has just taken a giant step forward with the signing of a major record deal (Asylum/Curb Records) with her all girl band, Cowboy Crush.

Even with such a dubious start - caterwauling for the family - it didn't take Trenna ong to make her mark in Music City, and the sky is surely the limit on Trenna's future as a leading force in Nashville's entertainment industry.

With the passion of music in her heart, and the drive of success in her soul, Trenna came from Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Nashville immediately after high school graduation to study at Belmont University with a vocal scholarship. Throughout her college years, Trenna spent every waking moment pursuing her dream of being an artist. Unlike most college students, she didn't have to take part time jobs to survive. Her musical skills and vibrant personality allowed her to earn a living singing demos and doing live performances. She has performed as a soloist in musical revues at several theme parks and has performed overseas in USO/DOD Tours for the U.S. Military. She has performed on cruise ships and in casinos in the Caribbean and even done Christmas shows for U.S. troops in Kosovo and Finland. You have probably heard Trenna's unique and captivating voice in past national radio commercials for Pepsi Cola and Lipton Iced Tea, as well as myriad local and regional TV and radio spots. Despite a very hectic touring and recording schedule with Cowboy Crush, Trenna still continues to be in high demand for studio demos, a job that is more fun than work for her.

Yet, Trenna believes in synergy, and she knew when she helped form Cowboy Crush that a truly synergistic force was on the move. As lead singer for the band, she blows audiences away with her amazing vocal prowess and sassy stage presence, but she still allows the other girls to take their place on the stage as equals in a show of unparalleled energy, entertainment and excitement.

Trenna enjoys roller-blading, hiking, biking, swimming, and wakeboarding. Though her passion is Cowboy Crush and music, her business savvy and spunky spirit make her more than a lead singer, but a leader who sings.

And for listeners who haven't yet been enlightened, our advice is simple: Prepare to be "Crushed".
